Officers are appealing for four drivers to come forward who may have witnessed or have relevant dashcam footage following a fatal collision in Poole.
Dorset Police received a report at 5pm on Friday 28 November 2025 of a two-vehicle collision involving a DAF truck and a silver motorcycle at the Safety Drive roundabout.
Emergency services attended and, despite their best efforts, the rider of the motorcycle, a 17-year-old boy from North Dorset, sadly died at the scene. The truck driver was uninjured. The boy’s family has been told and HM Coroner notified.
Police Sergeant David Cotterill, of the Roads Policing team, said: “Despite the best efforts of emergency service colleagues, the 17-year-old motorcycle rider very sadly died. Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
“We continue to carry out enquiries in relation to this incident and following the review of dashcam footage, we have identified four vehicles who were in the area at the time and we believe their drivers may have witnessed the collision and we’re appealing for them to come forward.
“All four vehicles have entered the Upton Bypass heading in a westerly direction including a black BMW 1 series that was directly in front of the collision as it occurred on the roundabout, a white Vauxhall Astra in the second lane of the roundabout that exited onto the Upton Bypass as the motorcyclist was struck, a black Suzuki Swift that takes the exit as the collision occurred and a white Ford Transit Van that takes the exit onto the Upton Bypass as the HGV comes to a stop.
“We believe the drivers of these vehicles may have witnessed the collision and would urge them to contact us.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the vicinity and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
